Steady On

…I wrote this song during a difficult time…it is a message of encouragement and upliftment. Take it and run with it!
The first verse speaks of unburdening yourself and moving forward. It is also a call to be present and mindful …in His presence is fullness of joy, at His right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11). Being transformed by its’ renewal, your mind is set apart from the world and focused on following a star (pursuing the God-given dreams and desires of your heart). As you focus on the bright morning star and take delight in Him, He freely gives you those dreams and desires (Psalm 37:4).
The chorus speaks of staying in His presence (where you are strong and where you belong), to keep moving forward and fighting the good fight (1 Timothy 6:12), and to never tire of doing good (2 Thessalonians 3:13), because we are called to live by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7) – “there’s nothing wrong with wearing wings and wanting things that you can’t see”
The second verse is an encouragement to speak things out and lay things down that keep you in bondage, to bring everything into the light so that you can know the truth and be set FREE (John 8:32). The sparkle in your eye is the joy and life that comes from slamming doors on lies, unbelief and darkness, and standing firm and confident in Him and your identity in Him because you’ve taken time to “fall into the sky” (surrender in and to His presence).

Hebrews 12:1 is also a good reference for this song. Enjoy…
