I initiated a movement called ‘Jams for Justice’ in 2012 as a way to continue to serve the counter-human trafficking field  in South Africa through harnessing the power of the creative arts to raise funds and awareness around the issue. J4J now encompasses a broader range of social justice issues in South Africa and we welcome replication of the idea. ‘Melody Making Mondays’ is a songwriting group started in my home in 2015. A small but mighty group of women would gather once a week to share, encourage and inspire one another, as well as to give and receive the comfort of a safe space, genuine care and mutual interest. Hosting this group really helped me recognize more than ever the importance of connecting with other creatives, sharing your work, sharing resources, and being encouraged and developed on a regular basis.
